Professor Fujio Maruyama
Prof. Maruyama Fujio is one of the pioneer Information Technology educators in Japanese Universities. He is regarded as one of the foremost programmer in Java and application software in Japan who besides being the Chairman of WAKHOK-Nepal is also serving as the President of Wakkanai Hokusei Gakuen University, Hokkaido- one of the innovative and leading Information & Media education center in Japan. With the increasing popularity of his designed faculty in the international arena his motto is being more practical in the recent days. He is committed to minimize the digital divide among societies and is keen to implement his philosophy of humanity, international harmony and information access for all.
His deep rooted vision in developing the ICT sectors of the South Asian communities of the world has initiated him to encourage this venture of establishing the WAKHOK-Nepal IT Company. He envisions to conduct all the activities required for the ICT development of the nation though this Company which shall serve as a central base for rapid expansion of his development programs. He has already consolidated his position in Nepal by a number of development programs like ICT seminars, conferences and contests, affiliation programs of his University with the Nepalese IT institutions, and has been able to win the wide recognition and respect of the academicians, IT institutions and even the government of Nepal.
Prof. Maruyama graduated from the faculty of Education, University of Tokyo and acquired masters from Graduate School of Social Science from Hitotsubashi University. He started his professional career as the faculty and President of Wakkanai Hokusei Gakuen College since 1998 and envisioned the faculty of Integrated Media as a new of its kind in Japan.
With his aggressive slogan “North Edge the leading edge” and with his motive to aspire the communities from the northernmost territory of Japan to outside Japan with the latest technological development programs can be regarded as a bold and highly commendable effort.
